The Gallery - Me Right Now

The Gallery theme this week is 'Me Right Now' so here I am, erm........right now, courtesy of 'A' snapping away on my HTC. (Yes, she's off school with the lurgy along with lovely son).  Sorry, picture quality's not good!

Just been for a run, a rather crap one at that and analysing the results online with Runkeeper.  Now freezing cold, can't get warm and trying to absorb the last bit of heat from my mug of tea. (Also, trying to stay as far away from the kids as possible to avoid contagion, don't think I'll be able to hold out much longer though!)

The Gallery - Winter White

Yes, I know you'll all be cursing me for this one especially with Tara's pic of the exact opposite but for my Gallery 'Colour' theme, I've chosen Winter White brrrrrr.

I guessed most people would take advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having over the last couple of weeks and post scenic shades of blue and green so I thought, not for the first time, I'd be different.

This picture was taken shortly before Christmas last year when we had week upon week of the snow.  Our Border Terrier Arnold didn't know quite what to make of it!  Consider me evil for even mentioning the 's' word but I do love it.  Don't get me wrong I love the Summer too and was quite happy to give my sandals one last airing but I'm one for the extremes.  You see, I'm a weather fanatic - you can keep your murky, drizzly rain and your average temperatures, for me it has to be baking or freezing, hail showers or thunderstorms, blizzards or hurricanes!  I guess I just like the excitement, although I'd probably feel differently if I lived anywhere other than England, where our extremes only stretch to a tornado swiftly relocating your peg bag or a heatwave that lasts just long enough to get the barbecue fired up! ;)

The Gallery - A Happy Memory

Trying to find one happy memory for this weeks Gallery was pretty impossible.  I've trawled through thousands of photo's and there were just too many happy memories to choose from (which I'm sure most people have found!).

One particular set of photo's really did make me smile though when I started reminiscing.  The photo's were taken during our recent holiday to Florida.  The holiday itself had so many happy memories but this specific memory was of our last visit of Magic Kingdom.  We planned our last day there to incorporate the Main Street Electrical Parade and after a long and fun packed day in the park we stood around bagged our spot and waited for the parade to began.

We had quite wait so to pass the time we started messing around and taking silly pictures and just simply having fun!  So not one photo I'm afraid but a whole comedy collection.

The Gallery - Shoes

I've not taken part for such a long due to work / house / child commitments but since I've been trying to blog a little more often recently I thought I'd give the gallery a re-visit.  I was gobsmacked when I saw the theme for this week's 'The Gallery'. You see I'd actually taken the most ideal piccy a while back as as post for 'Tuesday's Treasures' but then never got round to using it.

[caption id="attachment_1109" align="aligncenter" width="640" caption="Crocs!"][/caption]

Love them or hate them, Crocs have been around now for a few years and I personally love mine to bits!  Yes, I know they're slipping out of fashion now but I will not be torn away from them.  They're great for slipping on to pop to the shop or for nipping out into the garden and they're so comfortable I can trek around all day in them (that is apart from when I chose to wear them for our coastal walk at Easter and ended up with a splinter in my foot!).

I actually have 4 pairs in total but the light blue ones were far to shabby to adorn a photograph and are kept for gardening and other such muddy occasions.  There are so many lovely colours it's hard to choose but I thought I'd better stop after 4 pairs as I seem to be seizing control of the show cabinet.

The Gallery - I'll remember April

April, in my mind, was a good month.

As far as I'm concerned nothing can make you feel better or remove stress more efficiently than waking up to a bright sunny, cheery day and April definitely had lots of these.

April was our first opportunity to take pooch off for his first holiday and it's also been a time for extended dog walks along wooded paths, admiring the flora and fauna along the way.  Add in the fact that school was shut for a huge part of the month and a beautiful royal wedding saw us all celebrating in various styles and I think we have as pretty near perfect in 'month' terms as you can get.

So to sum up I'll Remember April, not as in the lyrics of the Frank Sinatra song but as..............

Woodland walks..................

Picnics in the park..................

Wonderful wild flowers and....................

Beautiful blue skies and glorious green fields as far as the eye can see.

'The Gallery' - 3 Kings

Don't be fooled by the title!  Yes, it's now December but I'm not talking the same 3 kings who travelled to Bethlehem with Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh but more so the ones adorned with hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds and a couple of blokes named Jack!

This weeks theme for the gallery is 'Celebration' so I thought I'd post a picture of my own little celebration.  This was a celebration of my first victory over hubby at poker.  We'd played sooooo many times, sometimes just the two of us and other times as a group but he always managed to wipe the floor with me.  The thing is, I wouldn't say I'm competitive when it comes to playing games with 'P'..........well ok then, yes, I'm VERY competitive so you can imagine my joy the first time I wiped him out at Poker!  As you can see from the picture, I don't think he could quite believe it either.

You may think it a little sad to felt the need to photograph this occasion but victories like this are few and far between............I was determined to preserve the evidence!

'The Gallery' - Man & Dog

Gallery theme for this week is 'Black & White' and I had just the picture in mind for this.

Bude in Cornwall has always been a favourite holiday destination of ours ever since the children were little.  One of our most loved spots is 'Duckpool' - a small National Trust beach a little further up the coast from Bude.  We've spent many a Summer and Autumn day sitting on this beach and this particular photo was taken on a .............Summer day (yes, you wouldn't think it would you!).  The sky was so dark and stormy but the camera just wouldn't do it justice.  I tried a B&W setting and voila!  It captured the scene just as I'd wanted.

The Gallery - Braving the Elements

This is my first post for Tara Cain's weekly post 'The Gallery'.  It's a little late but due to the fact that I love this pic so much I thought I'd post it on here anyway!

This photo was taken back in 2008 on our girls weekend to Tenby.  The weather was ...........in a word...........AWFUL!  Due to the fact that we 'always' walk South Beach we were determined to go ahead as usual.

Oh my God.......the picture says it all!  We could hardly stand up let alone pose for the photo. Our clothes were soaked, I had to hold onto my hat for fear it would blow away and Steph (on the left) didn't realise that her hat was perched on top of her head like an elf and none of us bothered to tell her! :)

I have to say we had to give in half way across and the journey in the other direction was much quicker as the wind was blowing from behind us!

I can't help but laugh every time I look at this photo and I've just had a little giggle to myself whilst typing this and reminiscing about how funny the whole thing was at the time.
